Hindu Victim of Entally Episode – October 25th,2012 – Dies

Will Police Culprits be Penalized?

The name of Dipu Das (age 42), Hindu individual and rickshaw puller by profession, is not known to a lot of persons. However, the same innocent man, belonging to Hindu (Mahadalit Ravidas)community, who was the main source of living for his family simultaneously, succumbed to death on December 2, 2012 at 3.50 PM owing to serious injuries.

Reason? Dipu Das happened to be an unfortunate Hindu victim of police’s inhuman torture at Entally, Kolkata. On October 25, 2012 procession to immerse Mata Durga of Bhratri Sangha of Linton Street (Beniapukur P.S.) was proceeding through C.I.T. Road. Once the procession reached in front of Padmapukur at about 10 p.m, a few Muslim boys were found to hurl stones on both the procession and deity leading to excessive damage to the holy deity of Devi Durga. A few Hindus, walking both within and alongside the procession, were also hurt.
Hindus put forward a valiant defence against the attackers having other nefarious intentions apart from desecrating the Holy Deity.

To put an end to the Hindu defiance, local administration and police left no stone unturned to crack down on Hindu demonstrators. At that moment, Dipu Das, unknown to the development completely, was busy in placing his rickshaw (after a day’s work). He was caught in the flare up, became victim to brutal lathi charge of police.

Nevertheless, even if police tried to take away injured Dipu Das to any nearby hospital initially, he was dumped later owing to his fast worsening condition. As per locals, the unfortunate Hindu individual was just thrown from the police van.

On October 26, 2012, witnessing his worsening condition, Dipu Das was admitted to Chittaranjan hospital by his family members. But, to deal with the emergent issue fast, he was transferred to Nilratan Sarkar (NRS) Medical College on October 27.

The impoverished Hindu Dalit family, despite being devoid of any form of assistance, expended best to save ailing Dipu – all came to an end on December 2, 2012 at 3.50 pm.

Shyam Das (age 22) and Sharmila Das (age 20) happen to be son and daughter of Dipu Das respectively.

When representatives of Hindu Samhati, Samir Guha Ray and Sujit Maity, went to meet the Hindu family, they had nothing else except to burst into tears. No political party has turned up to side with the innocent Hindu family yet and there is no hope of it as well. Reason? Support to Islamists in the name of secularism to garner votes happens to be the best ploy these days in Bengal.

No One Bothers About The Hindus in Bengal.

Question remains what shall happen to the family members of (departed) Dipu Das henceforth.
Hindu Samhati regularly monitors and reports violations against Hindus in West Bengal. We also work with both governmental and NGO agencies for proper education on protection and ensure remedies to the Hindu populace as per prevailing law of the land.
